Environmental Project Manager

Responsibilities

The Environmental Project Manager is an environmental practitioner and project manager role, providing surveys, reports, insights and recommendations to our clients on complex environmental projects.

  • Conducts Phase I Environmental Site Assessments and/or performs Phase II field activities.
  • Conducts data analysis in order to develop conclusions and recommendations.
  • Develops project costing for subsurface investigations, groundwater and soil sampling, and underground storage tank removals
  • Oversees field personnel.
  • Plans, prioritizes, and organizes diversified workload. Recommends changes in practices or procedures when necessary to improve processes and services.
  • Performs standard project management duties, such as developing and managing financial and project records, contracts, bid specifications, charts, tables, etc.
  • Acts as a liaison with other departments and outside agencies including high-level public and/or private contacts.
  • Attends designated meetings and deals with a diverse group of important external callers and visitors.
  • Performs other duties in direct relationship to the department operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in science or an environmental related discipline. A degree in Geology is preferred.
  • A minimum of one year of experience as a staff environmental scientist in a consulting firm performing site assessments, writing reports and assisting with proposals
  • A minimum of  two years of experience as a environmental project manager in a consulting firm with related job duties
  • Sound professional knowledge and judgement
  • High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations
  • Ability to interact very effectively with all levels of public and private clientele, particularly the ability to provide professional opinions and advice in a constructive, professional manner at all times
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • OSHA 40-hour certification
  • Willing to travel
  • A valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record
  • Successful pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check
