Associate Environmental Scientist – Plymouth, MI

Our Associate Environmental Scientists are active, professional practitioners in a wide variety of environmental projects in the private and public markets, including the Federal Government. You’ll work under the guidance of a senior environmental scientist and be given every opportunity to advance in your field.

Job Responsibilities

• Conduct Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) site visits, research, and report writing

• Conduct Phase II ESA field sampling, data evaluation, and report writing

• Provide environmental oversight/logging during the advancement of soil borings and monitoring well installation using Geoprobe and drill rig methodologies

• Sampling and contractor oversight during underground storage tank (UST) removals

• Attend designated meetings and work with a diverse group of colleagues and clients.

• Perform other duties in direct relationship to the department operations.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related science or engineering discipline.

• A minimum of three years of experience performing ESAs and associated field work.

• Strong reporting writing skills.

• Michigan and Ohio regulatory experience and OSHA 40 hour certification are highly desired.

• Strong organizational and communication skills are critical to success.

• Must be proficient with many computer programs, such as Microsoft Word and Excel.

• Must have high level of interpersonal skills to interact directly with clients and handle sensitive and confidential situations.

• Position involves frequent day travel and up to 25% overnight travel, depending on the project.

• Must possess a valid driver’s license with insurable driving record.

• Must successfully complete a pre-employment physical, drug screen and background check.
